NewsBright Eyes teams up with Yeah Yeah YeahsBright Eyes teamed up with Yeah Yeah Yeahs guitarist Nick Zinner on Tuesday (May 30) as part of his Town Hall residency in New York. Also on stage were Norah Jones, Rilo Kiley's Jenny Lewis and Gillian Welch. As previously reported he opened his residency by teaming up with Lou Reed. He is also set to release 'Hot Knives' as the second single from his new album 'Cassadaga' on July 9. The star and his band will play the following UK dates: London Shepherd's Bush Empire (July 3,4) Birmingham Academy (July 6) Muse bring Benicasim 2007 to epic close Muse led Benicassim 2007 to a thundering close tonight (July 22). Britain's biggest live act stole the show as they returned to the Spanish festival for a second time. Following powerful main stage sets from Kings of Leon and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, the band ploughed through their greatest hits. And a spectacular visual show climaxed with giant balloons filled with tickertape released into the crowd during 'Plug In Baby', echoing their recent shows at Wembley Stadium. Enthusing about the festival, Matt Bellamy was told NME.COM: "Benicassim's brilliant, it's got a really weird line-up, a lot of bands who you think have disappeared or split up or something. And the backstage area is one of the best party areas anywhere. The promoter hands out all these free passes to women, as I'm sure you're aware!" Muse turned up onsite yesterday to support the UK's other big festival hit of the summer: "I saw the Arctic Monkeys last night," said Matt. "I spent the rest of the time propping up the bar, but I thought they were really good. They played really well. They've got a big gig in the UK next week (at Lancashire County Cricket Club), so it's great to see them when they're right at their peak." |
